Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide (DSIP) is a naturally occurring nonapeptide first isolated from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits during induced sleep states. With the amino acid sequence Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu, DSIP has been characterized as a multifunctional neuropeptide with diverse research applications spanning neuroendocrinology, chronobiology, and stress response physiology.
